PARTNERS | COMMITTEE OF EXPERTS ON ACCESS TO ORIGINS
The Committee of Experts on Access to Origins (CJ-OR) – under the guidance and supervision of the European Committee on Legal Co-operation (CDCJ) – are tasked to draft a recommendation on the rights of donor-conceived persons to know their origins. The first meeting was held in June 2025 where the expert group discussed the potential scope and principles guiding the recommendations, as well as issues that should be addressed. During this first meeting, Child Identity Protection (CHIP) provided an intervention on key child rights that should be considered among other things. After this first meeting, CHIP’s application to be considered an observer to the CJ-OR was formally accepted end July 2025 by the CDCJ. During the second meeting, CHIP advocated for a recommendation that is aligned with States obligations in the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
