Child Identity Protection (CHIP) with its partners ATD Fourth World, European Network on Statelessness (ENS), Global Survivors Fund (GSF), Institute on Statelessness and Inclusion (ISI), Intercountry Adoptee Voices (ICAV), Origines, UNHRC and UNICEF as part of the Identity Rights Working Group (IDRW) met with the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child in Geneva to discuss opportunities to address the many in challenges children face in enjoying their right to identity. The briefing session focused on the child’s right to immediate birth registration, to have a nationality and full information about their family relations. The IDRWG reiterated its support for the important work of the CRC Committee in keeps States accountable.
